Growing up in Spring Texas, Owen began his athletics career as a competitive gymnast at eight years old and continued competing eight more years to Class 1 (Level 10 equivalent). Upon graduating Klein High School in 1991, he then joined the United States Marine Corps. Owen honorably served in the infantry reserve attaining the rank of sergeant, while attending Sam Houston State University. His military career spanned eleven years, Operation Enduring Freedom, and countless life building experiences. Owen has a bachelor’s degree in Education and Applied Science specializing in Exercise Science.
